Administrative HistoryThe Urban Distrcit of Chislehurst and Sidcup was formed under the Kent County Review Order, 1934 and came into existence on 1st April 1934. It was made up of the former areas of the Chislehurst Urban District, Sidcup Urban District and part of the Bromley Rural District.

In 1965, Chislehurst and Sidcup Urban District Council was abolished as a result of the Local Government Act 1963. The Chislehurst area became part of the present day London Borough of Bromley and the Sidcup area became part of the present day London Borough of Bexley.
