Administrative HistoryMrs Piercy-Fox BA, FSA was an enthusiastic trained amateur archaeologist and local historian. In the 1950s she supervised the excavations at Holwood as well as the excavations of a Roman Villa and re-excavations of a Roman temple in Keston. She was also a founder member of the Keston Field Club and built up a considerable collection of maps, files, photographs, and other material relating to her archaeological and local history interests. After her death in 1966 a memorial fund was set up by her husband, Dr E. V. Piercy Fox, and the Keston Field Club to finance publication of archaeological research to be administered by Kent Archaeological Society. A collection of material was given to the Borough and divided between the Museum at Orpington and the Local Studies and Archive departments, Bromley Central Library.
